Hosting in Miami Beach
Miami Beach is where Tamar's story with food in Miami began: she ran a café here for years. Today most Beach entertaining happens at home, in oceanfront condos, Mid-Beach houses and on boats, and that is where a chef is most useful.
A typical Beach booking is a seated dinner for eight to twenty in an apartment, a cocktail evening on a terrace, or a welcome dinner for family visiting for the season.

See more →What we plan for in Miami Beach
- Condo buildings. Most towers ask vendors for a certificate of insurance and a booked service elevator. Send us the building's vendor rules and we plan arrival around them.
- Terraces and wind. Ocean terraces are beautiful and windy. We plan menus and serving pieces that hold up outdoors, and move dessert inside if needed.
- Yachts. For dinners on board at the Miami Beach marinas, we cook ahead, finish on board and serve on your schedule. See yacht catering.
- Season and Art Week. December through April, and Art Week in early December, book up early. Send your date as soon as you have it.
For a seated dinner, start with the Chef-Served Dinner menu; for a terrace party, the Cocktail menu.

Private chef in Miami Beach
A private chef on the Beach usually means a seated dinner in an oceanfront apartment, where the kitchen is small and the view does half the work. Tamar plans the menu around the kitchen you have: most of the prep is done ahead, and the dinner is finished and plated in your home. How our private chef service works →
Shabbat, holidays and kosher-style in Miami Beach
Miami Beach has some of the oldest Jewish communities in South Florida, from Mid-Beach and North Beach to Surfside and Bal Harbour. Friday-night dinners, holiday tables and shiva meals are a big part of what we cook here. Friday deliveries are planned to arrive well before candle lighting, and the Shabbat Table platters serve up to 12, ready to heat.
Our food is kosher-style: meat and fish menus with no dairy. We are not a certified kosher kitchen, so if your family keeps strict kosher, order from a certified kosher caterer. About kosher-style →
Where Miami Beach hosts entertain
Most Beach events are at home: oceanfront condo towers along Collins Avenue, houses on the Venetian Islands, Sunset Islands and Normandy Isles, and family homes in Surfside and Bal Harbour. For yacht dinners, boats leave from Miami Beach Marina and the docks along the bay side.
